We have a family business. I started the guiding business over 20 years ago. My wife, Carol, cooks here at our house and helps with the bookwork. My son, Lee, and other family members are involved in the business.
We have the working person (man or woman) as our main clients. We don't want to get so high priced that only the wealthy can afford the experience of an elk hunting adventure in the Little Belts of Montana.
We hunt mainly on private land, either our own or leased. We do occasionally utilize some public land including the Lewis & Clark National Forest, but try to stay where there is little or no competition for our group.
Over the years our success rate for elk is over 50 percent; this includes many first time hunters. We are very proud of this. We work hard to give everyone a good hunting experience with meat to take home.
The ranch house near White Sulphur Springs has room for five and the advantage of electricity, hot showers, and other amenities. The hunting camp is nice, but has no indoor plumbing or electricity. The advantage there is that it is about an hour closer to hunting so allows for more sleep and less travel every day.
While hunters are here, there is occasionally time for a little fishing, bird hunting or even bear hunting. These events are extras and only happen when everyone in the group agrees or the guides are able to accommodate part of the group. We will work with all of you.
Over the years, we have had many hunters returning time after time. We've gotten to know their families and watched their children grow up. This is the icing on our cake. We are definitely people oriented.
Please let us know if we can supply you with more information.

Sincerely,

Howard & Carol Zehntner
